On behalf of us all I would like to convey our thanks to Doug Perkins, Andy Greenwood and all of the VJMC crew for another great weekend at Donnington Park, their unstinting work both during and for many months before made the event what it was  and all too often just the simple expression of gratitude and a "thank you guys for everything" is missed by those that benefit from the level of their work and effort making us so welcome - THANKS GUYS!

Our weekend was, despite the appalling weather yesterday morning, a really great one with 12 members attending and their bikes (unfortunately Steve and Chris had to pull out a few days beforehand). Four "camped" although it was only Gerry that was on the ground and the rest of us stayed at the Holiday Inn Express where unlike last year there will certainly be no need for me to put pen to paper about the evening meal ....except to say thank you!

Saturday's racing was fast and furious both on track and on the grass. In the exhibition hall there were some 48 different bike clubs exhibiting together with a range of traders trying to tempt members to put there had in their pockets - in addition we of course had free access to the pits as well as all other areas of the track and it's exhibition areas. Possibly as a result of the expected weather for Sunday morning the decision was taken to continue the race programme through till around 8 30pm so unfortunately the track parade that we had all signed for had to be put on hold......with a promise from Doug that it would take place on Sunday.
Free shuttle bus arrangements were again made to take us to our hotel and collect us again Sunday morning, weather was of course atrocious on Sunday  and we were very pleased of the ability to remain in the exhibition hall in the dry, tea and coffee flowed freely - again courtesy of the VJMC Crew!
Our own star "The face of Donnington" was kept busy fending off eager autograph hunters although at least one happy punter managed to get him to sign alongside a previous GP world champion Kevin Schwartz of course our star and Kevin were snapped later in the day hugging each other - as old friends often do..........funny that,  as he was also observed by fellow guest’s and hotel staff running off to his hotel room hand in hand for an early night with someone else the previous evening, no doubt this will be mentioned at the club night so you will have to attend to get the full update.

I attach a few pictures which give you a flavour of the weekend including a nice snap of the RAF Lancaster doing a fly past............oh yes and the track ride did take place on Sunday although it was a little wet but by the time we started to leave we had bright and clear weather albeit very windy!

Thanks again to Doug, Andy and the VJMC crew!
