Following up on yet another successful running of "Stuff the Turkey" our annual Christmas bash, Matt has submitted the following report on the event:

Stuff the Turkey
The 2nd December 2014 saw the return of the East Northants Classic Motorcycle Club annual Christmas "Stuff the Turkey" dinner, after we broke tradition last year when we sat down and had the regular Christmas meal - all agreed that Stuff the Turkey, where we have Fish and Chips, loads of bread and butter followed by some excellent warm mince pies with homemade brandy sauce and double cream.......(courtesy of Kate - yum yum!) is far the better option.
As usual there were a couple of seats empty where people had failed to turn up even after paying the princely sum of £7.00 for everything, of course nothing went to waste as our regular man on a diet quickly stepped in  - to surprise everyone however he was later heard to decline additional mince pies!
The evening, as always had a fund raising raffle which was fully supported with everyone bringing a prize or two with the money raised going towards the clubs new club marquee's  for which the order is being placed as we write - we will therefore soon have two new 3 m by 3m marquees that will have club logo and name on one face of each marquee so they can be used separately or indeed with central walls removed connected together to form a 6m by 3m display area............I guess the first venue for use will be Rusden Cavalcade at the beginning of May which I trust all members have already sent of the Club designated application forms.
This year was of course our 10th anniversary and after an introduction by our founding father Keith Wilmer a special presentation trophy was awarded by Melvin Saunders on behalf of the club. After a lot of behind the scenes discussion amongst members it seems that there was a unanimous decision that the trophy could only be awarded to one particular person and after explanation from Melvin mentioning the word "Concours Bikes" I was very pleased to be awarded the trophy and proudly collected it from Melvin - unfortunately nobody appears to have taken any pictures so the ones attached were taken inside the pub a week later.
You will see that these mirror the events of the night where all smiles and laughs at the presentation plus a close up of the trophy with proud owner and then a rather forlorn owner after having read the inscription which reads............." Concours to Oily Rag - Matt Embleton 2014" ..........thanks guys however  I now realise you mean me not my bikes - just wait till next year when I have the power to select the winner!

FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - Our thanks go to Keith and Kate who put a tremendous amount of time and effort into the club, without which the evenings event would not have taken place!

See website gallery two for photographs.

Ps: Keith has since reported that £130 was raised on the evening and that the order for the club marquee is now in the process of being placed.
