The Spinal Injuries Association's (SIA) ride to the Ace Cafe in London. It was a dull but dry day with the temperature only registering 8 degrees centigrade outside my garage in Northampton. Not to be put off we headed for Wellingborough..
Our group from the Encmcc met in Wellingborough as planned where the discussion mainly centred on the cool weather conditions and on a brighter note the brand new Kawasaki W800 that Trevor turned up on.
Our first stop was at the SIA office in Milton Keynes. Here we met up with a number of other riders supporting the run. Among those was Mike from South Wales with his modified Ducati outfit who had recently attended our charity photo shoot. Other bikes present included a couple of sidecar outfits and a Can Am three wheeler.
After purchasing our SIA buffs to help fund the charity it was time to get under way again.
The group left Milton Keynes and headed down the M1 at a steady pace largely dictated most of the way by roadworks and average speed cameras. We finally made it to the Ace Cafe in North west London where we met even more riders taking part in the event.
At the venue some of us enjoyed lunch in the cafe whilst the meaner members among us skulked in the corners secretly eating the sandwiches they had brought with them.
After a few hours at the cafe it was time to make our way home. Most went in a group back up the M1 whilst we did a country route out through Chorley Wood and Leighton Buzzard back to Northampton.
A good day in support of a good cause.

PS: The traffic in London was just about tolerable, only one significant attempt by a car driver to kill us. However Its beyond my comprehension why anyone would voluntarily live in London or even commute to the place. My memories about it being bloody awful were confirmed.
