A word from Matt: Rides in 2013, those done and those to come.

Despite the awful weather we have had in the first three months of the year several rides have taken place, but alas other than the ride to Market Harborough our resident photographer has not been with us.....and as all that know aee aware I am afraid I do not have one of these phone camera thingies......in fact never carry have a mobile phone - I HATE THEM! (its an age thing).

Anyway I continue get out as much and as often as I can and I always ask at the club if anyone is up for a ride during the week ahead sometimes even managing to encourage a few to dust off the cobwebs - last minute phone rounds still normally bring a core of individuals out ....of course this last minute call routine is itself somewhat devisive as I only tend to phone those that have previously indicated they are interested or that I know are likely to be free.

We had about five rides of between 40 and 80 miles last month with maximum of six taking part - it was also great to see Pete Butterworth join us last Sunday for a fettling ride on his recently completed Gold Star. We went to Jack Hill's Cafe the scenic way and enjoyed a great bacon sandwich, good crowd and was joined by a fith bike on the way home as we met up with a guy from Earls Bartion who led us all home.

Very pleased to update everyone on Martyn Penney who also did a little ride with Rod and me on Thursday afternoon......rumour has it in preparation for going on ride with "The Panther Boys" on Friday? if there was a ride afraid I must of missed it being discussed at the Club and without any details I was unable to go - did anyone go out?

I have been chastised, quite rightly so ....if I am going to suggest Martyn was checking out whether he was fit enough to ride with the Panther Boys I should have least stated the correct day....it was Thursday not Friday.........its my confusion have never been able to work out exactly which day is a Friday especially considering Melvin's "off on Friday shift pattern".

Anyway thought I was seeing double today when one of the bikes turned up for our ride out and I was told Trev's here and a couple of minutes later in rides Trev...........seems those little "W's" have been breeding - noe does the W on the tank really mean the bikes are transferse Wankle engines?

Thanks for company on todays ride - no doubt more on that to follow.

Matt
