This report was submitted by Trev

I had arranged to go out for  ride with Rod on Sunday as weather forecast was good. Matt had the same idea and sent an email to see if anyone fancied a rideout.
We met at Rods house at 10.30am. After brief chat , it was suggested that a trip to Sweet Hedges for a cuppa would be fine . The 3 of us set off after Matts Speed Twin was finally started( as usual!)  Rod on the Kwacka and Trev on his Enfield.
Matt led us through Grafton Underwood and Geddington, crossing the A43 and making our way to Rushton, Pipewell, and East Carlton.  We ended up riding alongside the  Eyebrook reservoir, arriving at SweetHedges  for refreshment – it was very busy with all the Sunday cyclists.
Feeling revived we made our returning journey via Hallaton, Medbourne and Nevill  Holt., then retracing our steps back to Cranford heading for Matts for tea and rock cakes.
Approaching Finedon on the A 510 we came across a lady cyclist laying in the road having fallen  from her bike, her husband was at her side. We stopped immediately and  Matt commenced Florence Nightingale actions whilst an ambulance was called. She was unconscious  with a nasty head injury.
Meanwhile Rod and Trev took charge of Traffic control- encouraging gawpers to  move on!
Paramedics arrived followed by an Ambulance. They took their time to deal with patient who by now thankfully was conscious. Matts hi viz jacket was now covered in blood as he had removed it to place under the lady’s head. The medical team thanked us for our assistance  and took her to KGH.
By this  time Rod realised that  he should make his way home otherwise he would be in  trouble, so no tea and rock cakes today!.
Trev.

Well done lads. Your actions are a credit to you and bikers in general.
Lets hope the lady involved makes a good recovery and you all get your tea and rock cakes soon.

Brian the injured ladies husband phoned me to say that Jill has been allowed home but must be chaperoned at all times until the swelling on the brain subsides. The hospital considers she was very lucky not to suffer more extensive head damage - she also suffered broken wrist.
