Once again we have Matt to thank for submitting a ride report and some photos of the clubs Sunday ride out to the Transport day at Milton  Keynes museum.

Yesterday saw a dozen members setting off from Pure Triumph in Wellingborough at 10 o’ clock sharp in clear and bright, albeit slightly chilly Autumn weather. Soon however we found ourselves in low lying fog and mist as we rode along the A509 towards Newport Pagnell.  It wasn’t long before we were tackling Milton Keynes numerous roundabouts through to the V 6 before turning into Millers Way and the entrance of the Milton Keynes Museum.

At the museum there was already a great selection of classic cars and motor bikes.
Our own “Club” contingent was certainly one of the largest club entries, and once registered, tea, coffee and passes etc. were handed out.

Many members spent a couple of hours looking at the great range of motorbikes that lined the main driveway past the Transport shed of the Museum – then for most it was time to start looking round the various other Museum buildings including the Victorian House which was previously owned by the Radcliffe family who went on to form the renown John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Other areas in the Museum include the Victorian shopping street, blacksmiths, cinema and into the farm building with an early threshing machine and other implements which depicted the past days “down on the farm”.

Back outside and there were yet more vehicles of all types to look at, including a brace of Broughs which had just been ridden in from Holland. Others included Vincent’s, 1930’s Harley and many more ………hopefully the pictures give a taste for those that couldn’t join us.
A really great and enjoyable day out!

 Matt
