The Kawasaki retro classic club?
Sunshine on a sunny Sunday morning. we decided it was time to pull the bike from the garage and join the ride out Matt had promoted via email to the membership.
The starting place was Matts house and the finish unknown to me at least.
We were first to arrive on our Triumph Legend and we parked alongside Matts Guzzi V7. we were quickly followed by a Lawrence from the Heart of England club arriving on his Meridan Triumph.
Whilst Matt was giving Lawrence the grand tour of his garage, Mark on a shiny Kawasaki W800 just like Trevs arrived. Moments later Rod on his Kawasaki W650 and Trev on his W800 arrived.
Suddenly we seemed to have morphed into a Kawasaki W twin cylinder club.
The final rider to turn up was Pete on his Honda VF vee four.
The only classic bike by virtue of age present was Lawrence's and he wasnt able to join us for the ride out.
We had a very pleasant ride by the usual circuitous routes to Foxton were we sat inside to enjoy our tea and butties. The temperature was just a bit too low for sitting outside when you were slightly chilled already.
Those other visitors at the canal side who had walked or arrived by car crowded the outside seating areas in the weak but welcome sunshine.
As we made ready to leave the car park atleast twenty BMW bikes arrived en masse. Proof that the weather was indeed on the turn for the better we hope.
We followed Rod back to his place for more tea and biscuits but Pete turned off for home whilst somehow we managed to lose sight of Trev and he went home thinking we werent coming. Oh well.
A great day out following our deep winter hibernation. Fairly short distance at moderate speeds followed by tea all round. what more could we ask for?
