Sunday morning and nine members met at 0800 hours at Higham Ferrers.
After a short wait for any stragglers we set off on my scenic route to the 2013 Founders Day meet at Stanford Hall.
On route we kept a watchful eye out for Chris Saunders who had told Keith he was setting off early on his 98cc James however we never passed him and in fact nobody saw him at the show.....were you there Chris?
We were all a bit apprehensive that the weather was on the turn as our ride out was decidedly chilly and damp with a rather thick mist descending on us as we headed towards the well named village of Cold Ashby.
I was also told by Mr Diet Man that Andy was leading the ride but again
he wasn't at the start however Andy clearly has a double as on arrival his
dopple ganger was seen walking up to say hello wearing snazzy Bermuda shorts
and possibly sandals now did he ride there on one of his high powered
machines I wonder.
We were also supposed to meet up with Roy and his Ural outfit - apparently someone saw him there and the reason he gave for not reversing onto our area is that he thought as a new comer he wasn't yet a real member....RUBBISH ROY the moment you said Hello you were a member and the fact that you keep coming to our meetings you are now most certainly a stalwart member.
Phil Short and Babs were also on scene but disappeared before we could fill
his vehicle up with spare parts what a spoil sport Phil - Bob Gitting's,
Lawrence and few members from Heart of England were also there as was Keith
Day who has visited us and who I have got to know a bit better through the
British Two Stroke Club although he was at Founders day on his Triumph.
A good day was had by one and all - shame hop along John and his trusty side
kick Linn were unable to join us but as reported he is unfortunately still
unable to put any weight on his foot - not sure what actually happened but
for John and Linn to miss out on the recent good riding weather and find it
necessary to cancel a booked holiday it must be pretty painful - you have
been missed and everyone (they now all know) wish you well and hope to see
you again very soon.
