For the second year running Andy Greenwood led the ride out to the Duxford Remembrance day event.
Although I couldn't go myself I am informed that there was a very good turn out of at least twenty bikes. Members from the Encmcc, the VJMC, the TOC and the Heart of England club all assembled for the start outside the Star and Garter pub at Chelveston..
That was more or less the last Matt our website informer saw of the group till Duxford as Andy led off on a route towards St Neots then taking in the A428 and M11 to the Imperial War Museum site. Like Andy, Matt also had a little anniversary as for the second year running he was left at the start. Apparently as is is way he hung back slightly to make sure everyone got away ok, but then history repeated itself and by the time he got going they had all gone without a backward look.
Matt has specified a visit to Specsavers for the three Encmcc members who set off in front of him but then didn't notice he was missing till they got to Duxford.
The day itself was pretty much the usual format with the serious business of the Remembrance Service on the 100th year since the start of WW1. Then the chance to look around the huge museum site and be impressed by the exhibits and the ingenuity put into killing each other..
Sadly no one has sent in any photos so it will be down to unaided recollection of the day in years to come by those without Alzheimers only.
