What a fantastic turn out that gathered at Pure Triumph this morning – 19 machines (20 people – nice to see you today Ros) although due to Pete having slight concerns regarding his Gold Star he accompanied by friends returned to Earls Barton to fettle and or get another bike out and meet us at the Jam Pot Headquarters later.
Due to number of bikes we adopted the “Drop Off” system which is explained fully on our web site www.eastnorthantsclassicmcc.co.uk in a recent posting in the Club Events forum. Can’t recollect the need to do so much before, so Lawrence became Ride Leader leaving me as “tail end Charlie”.
On arrival at the Cafe several other bikes were already there with even more arriving whilst we were inside getting refreshments. When we were ready to set off a quick look round revealed that our numbers had virtually doubled and also included a couple in a Moto Guzzi powered trike it car.
All safely made it over to Jam Pot HQ at Kettering without a single person getting dropped – hence the value of the Drop Off system. On arrival at Kettering it was nice to see Pete (on a different machine) with his mates and also that Short Legs and Martyn had also made their way over.
Our Only hiccup of the day was the fact that with the absence of our resident photographer (doing the Welsh Rally I believe) we don’t have any photo’s of the day – plea to anyone that took some at Kettering to forward me a couple.
Hope we can get some more great ride outs in the months to come.
