The weather was very hot at around 25 centigrade a great improvement on the 8 centigrade of the last ride out only four days earlier. Todays ride had been organised by email the night before which resulted in a good turnout of eight riders.
Among the newer faces was Steve on his recently refurbished BMW and Andy on his Bonneville. When it came to setting off time Steve experienced a little trouble starting the bike which he put down to it still needing some fettling after its rebuild.
A short run was decided upon partly due to delays starting and also because it seems most people had other duties to attend to in the afternoon. The selected destination was to be the Emmaus centre near Carlton in Bedfordshire and the way was led by Derrick.
When we got to Carlton Steve didn't want to risk stopping the tempremental BMW and headed directly home whilst the rest of us parked up and made our way into the excellent cafe.
Tea and other refreshments were duly taken and thoroughly enjoyed. After we had finished in the cafe, further entertainment was then provided in the car park by a very hot Matt as he took a bit of time to persuade his equally very hot Norton twin to start. Once we were all underway we headed off as a group until various members split off as they they neared there particular destination.
It had been a lovely warm and pleasant ride out which I would have liked to have gone on longer if circumstances had allowed. Maybe next time.
