Ready to go on a sunny day outside Matts
It was early October and the weather forecast was too good to ignore.
Matt circulated an email to all the night before and several of us responded by turning up at his house for a short Sunday ride.
The plan was to ride over to "Wheels" the motorcycle dealer in Peterbrough. Rod whilst on a on a previous visit had discovered that the tea hut located in the car park sold  excellent burgers at a bargain price, The proposal then was a visit to a bike shop followed by low cost tea and a burger, this was clearly enough to justify the ride.
The weather was indeed sunny and the ride to Peterbrough was mostly uneventful if you don't count a short unintended trip down the A1 joining the main road from a disused or possibly long closed, deeply potholed side road near the Nene Valley Railway.
When we got to our destination it was tea and a sandwich as first priority, so we sat at a table in the car park where I enjoyed a very good all day breakfast bap and tea for a very low price. Rod was indeed right and is obviously an authority on this kind of thing..
We then had a walk around the bikes in the shop.  I have to admit there wasn't much that appealed. Most of the bikes were race replicas with rear seats or pad  set several inches higher than the riders seat and passenger foot pegs so high that your legs would need to be uncomfortably folded whilst riding. These tail high Moto Gp style bikes look ideally set up to launch your passenger over your head if you have to brake hard.
The alternatives were largely over styled overweight custom bikes. It seems very few bikes exist that combine a compact size, low weight, comfortable seats, and the possibility of touring and carrying luggage.
We then meandered home in my case via Matts to retrieve my camera which I had left on his kitchen table.

So not many photos on gallery two of the website this time.
