PictureThe Remberance Sunday ride.
Sunday November 10th was Remembrance Sunday and so it was time for what has become a regular fixture with a ride to The Imperial War Museum site at Duxford Airfield.

This event was well advertised in advance on the club website and by email, well it seemed to work as this was the biggest ride out of the year with seventeen bikes setting off from Higham Ferrers market place at 9.15 am. well to be more accurate sixteen riders set off at this time with Phil Short arriving and leaving several minutes later. Notable by their absence ( I like to think) were Linn and I. We were put off by the early start, this was arranged to allow people to arrive on time for the minutes silence at Duxford which we have in previous years usually missed.
As I wasn't actually there, this report is obviously based on overheard scraps of information only.
As I understand it most people got to Duxford safely and in time for he minutes silence and enjoyed the ceremony and the museum. One exception to this that I do know is that Matt didnt make it.
Matt was apparently riding at the back of the group to make sure no one got lost. Well on the way to Duxford the group got broken up in traffic in one of the towns they went through. Matt was held up at traffic lights when his bike stalled as he tried to pull away. Everybody else disappeared into the distance no one noticed Matt had gone AWOL.
Some time later Phil found Matt at the side of the road quietly cursing his elderly Suzuki and all things Japanese in general.
Matt did make it home on the bike despite it refusing to rev or produce much power, suspecting carb trouble was the problem.
Matt he still hasn't been able to trace whats wrong with the bike despite stripping cleaning and rebuilding the carbs.
I think hes now reading up on electronic ignition and Hari Kiri etc.
No one has sent photos for this event.
